Piston Rod is the core transmission component of the mud pump, mainly responsible for efficiently converting the reciprocating motion of the power device into linear motion of the piston, thereby promoting the high-pressure transportation of the mud medium. Its performance directly affects the efficiency, reliability, and service life of the entire pumping system. Due to the fact that mud pumps typically operate in high-pressure, high wear, and corrosive environments, Piston Rod needs to have excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance to adapt to different working conditions.
Application
In oil drilling, Piston Rod needs to withstand extremely high pressure (usually exceeding 50MPa) and resist corrosion from sulfur-containing mud, so high-strength stainless steel or surface sprayed tungsten carbide coating is often used to extend its service life. Piston Rod needs to have excellent impact resistance and eccentric wear resistance, and some working conditions even use ceramic coatings to enhance surface hardness. In addition, attention should be paid to the stress state of Piston Rod to prevent fatigue fracture and optimize maintenance cycles, thereby reducing downtime risks and improving overall operational efficiency.
